Anniwaa has wrapped on the film Beast by the Lake. The film follows the lead character, Ama (played by Anniwaa), a dedicated social worker, as she navigates her daily visits to service users, each facing their own struggles. With patience and compassion, she provides the support they desperately need. Ama’s final visit of the day takes an unexpected turn, one that becomes life-changing for both Ama and the person she is trying to help.

JANUARY 2026

Anniwaa recently worked with Writer and Director Ruth Greenberg on a new feature film.

Ruth is a Scottish BAFTA-winning and BIFA-nominated screenwriter and BIFA long-listed writer-director making feminist genre films. Ruth has been commissioned by A24, NETFLIX US, the BFI, BBC Films, Film4 and Creative Scotland. Her post-apocalyptic British Western screenplay, THE COMPETITORS, topped the Brit List in 2016. Her Indian-set Thriller, THE SPARK, was awarded the Tribeca Film Institute Filmmakers Fund 2018. In 2022 she was named a Screen International Star of Tomorrow.

Anniwaa wrapped CONTROL LINE, a new film directed by Kofi Ntiforo and written by Jainaba M. Seckan, taking on the lead role of Ida. The story centres on the isolated struggles of fertility.
